I grew to detest them in the 80s when the papers were always prattling on about a return to the "glory glory days".

I used to live near Harlow, the only town in Essex which was overwhelmingly THFC, place was full of 'em and there was a THFC shop in the town centre even back in the 1980's. Glenn Hoddle came from there too. Most deluded set of fans in football history.

Grew up in Walthamstow, surrounded by the cunts. I could see their floodlights from the end of my road. They were the better team when I was at school (which they mostly have been in my lifetime) and I was told it plenty at school.

But I was there with my old man for the 0-4 (Cross) game, and gave it to plenty the next day, even though I got bundled at breaktime, mainly in jest, but they were bitter. Even at that age.

How could I not hate the cunts??

I never used to hate them until Levy and the Olympic Stadium bollocks.

In fact until then I quite likedcthem, good attacking football.

Their shinanigans put paid to that.

I worked down Pindar Road for far too long after leaving school. Right opposite the dump. Lovely.

Re: Tottenham
Good shout Sven about Alfie Conn, the rat faced diver became the first in a long line of Spurs players I hated. That was my first ever West Ham game, away to Spurs and my Dad took me in the shelf as Spurs was the first ground on the train line into Liverpool St.

My Mum used to waitress at functions around East Herts and would always bring back autographs from Mike England, Martin Chivers and the bald Ralph Coates who was always hanging around the Ware Fc clubhouse. I longed to live near West Ham. I was sold on The Big Match, the ground, the fans, the claret & blue. West Ham going on the 74-75 cup run helped, naturally.

Then you had Ossie and Villa. The Peter Cook advert on the telly. Dear old Brain Moore for continually playing that “Run For Home” clip while everyone was supposed to drool over Ossie Ardiles in slow motion. Then Crookes and Archibald, the later who lived in Ware and who me and my Arsenal mate targeted, taking the piss taking a bit too far sometimes, you know kids’ stuff, fireworks at his house, that sort of thing. You know when he got sent off here and it felt like the whole ground sung “You’re just a Scottish Jew, Archibald, Archibald! To the tune of the British Airways advert “We’ll take more care of you”. Well we’d rattled him the night before as we sung the same to him. Snow balled his front room window, harmless really but annoying. Not sure what I’d say to my son if he did the same now, but you could get away with a lot back then. Everyone seems so precious nowadays.

Never liked Graham Roberts, who also lived in Ware, down near the bottom of my road…, albeit in a private bit, but we left him alone. Well you would wouldn’t you.

Losing 4-0 at Christmas under Pleat and then going back in January and saying in the pub there was absolutely no fucking way we’re losing 4-0 again and then losing 5-0, Clive Allen miss that then looped in. They wet themselves and we had nothing to give. Then afterward getting on the wrong train before it all turned on the platform and ending up in Enfield. Dead end!

Nico fucking Claassen, they always have these little rats of players. Erickson is the latest. Then you had pervy David Pleat’s curb crawling Sun headline t-shirt. You could always have a chuckle at Spurs.

There’s footage somewhere when Hilton scored, when we lost 2-1 and one of my Spurs mates couldn’t believe how mental we all went. But that didn’t compare with the 4-1 with Morley and Steve Jones as I was rotten that day. The results only recently turned out way since the Lasagne match. Still don’t know where that 3-0 came from under fatty, but that was funny.

I have Spurs mates, but still enjoy a private chuckle when they loose but don’t lord it over them as I don’t go much now and most of them still do. The home game against them probably being my last.

I wonder if this season is being teed up for us to scupper their title, which let’s face it…they’re in with a decent shout for it. I’ve always had a touch of Arsenal envy in how they’ve always seemed to tuck them up. Maybe this season it’s our turn as we seem to be getting up everyone’s nose again….at last!
